arculaDocumentation

Start

Quick start

Four steps and your first server is protected.

1. Connect a storage

Any S3 bucket: Hetzner, Scaleway, Wasabi, AWS, MinIO and other S3-compatible ones. The storages are yours — arcula puts plain restic repositories there. Better two at once, at different providers. More — Connect a storage.

2. Install the agent

In the panel: “Servers” → “+ Server”. The panel shows the install line with your address — run it on the server as root:

curl -fsSL https://<panel address>/install.sh | sudo sh

The script installs arcula and the arcula-agent service, and the server shows a connection code — confirm it in the panel. No inbound ports needed: the agent connects to the panel itself. More — Connect a server.

3. Choose what to protect

The agent finds Docker and Compose projects, volumes, databases and directories by itself. You mark what to protect, how often and to which storages. More — Choose what to protect.

4. Watch one number

The panel shows how much data would be lost if a server failed now. And you can restore even without the panel — with the recovery kit and plain restic.

The same article is in the panel, under “Help”.
